Burmese Sandstone Elephants
These large, and exceedingly heavy, carved sandstone elephants were used as bases to pillars. They have a hollow cylindrical cavity that once accommodated pillars at the entrance to a building or compound. They are between 80 and 100 years old and are very rare. They simply do not create pieces like this anymore. The sandstone is quite porous so these would do best in a protected environment that is free from the freeze/thaw cycle that damages the stone.
